Thanks to the tireless efforts of countless individuals who are engaged along the seafood value chain. Their unwavering dedication, innovative spirit, and unyielding commitment form the very backbone of this thriving sector.
We take immense pride in announcing the launch of the National Awards for Best Performing and Innovative Contributors in the Seafood Value Chain. This platform is designed to pay tribute to and uplift those who work relentlessly to ensure the flourishing of this industry. These awards are not merely a ceremony; they are a celebration of the unsung heroes who infuse flavour into our plates and prosperity into our far-flung rural areas.

Awards are going to be instituted in various key areas along the Seafood value chain to recognize excellence and innovation. The following are the categories.

○ Best Aquaculture Practices: Recognizing farms and farmers that demonstrate outstanding practices in shrimp and prawn farming. ○ Sustainable Farming: Awarding efforts that promote environmentally friendly and sustainable farming methods. ○ Small is beautiful: Small-scale Producer of the Year: Celebrating the achievements of small-scale shrimp and prawn farmers.

Processing, Value Addition, and Food Safety Assurance
○ Excellence in Processing: Honoring individuals, groups, or business entities for their high-quality processing and value-addition practices. ○ Product Innovation: Recognizing innovations in shrimp and prawn product development and diversification. ○ Quality Assurance: Awarding those who maintain the highest standards in product quality and safety.

○ Development and expansion of the domestic market including branding. ○ Excelling domestic sales: Awarding companies or individuals for registering outstanding sales.

Visible impact created in a wider geographical area due to specific successful intervention followed by chain of adoption. Impact award will be given in any other related sector but not covered under the five above categories
These categories encompass various aspects of the prawn and shrimp value chain, ensuring that a wide range of contributions and innovations are acknowledged and celebrated. Selection will be made based on the criteria described hereunder.

AWARD OF EXCELLENCE (SHRIMP): RULES & GUIDELINES
Who can apply: Companies or individuals can directly apply or someone can nominate if he/she fulfils the eligibility criteria
- The awards are open to companies/institutes and senior executives:- retailers, e-commerce players, traders, hotel/restaurant owners, purchasing managers, chefs, food innovators, FFPOs, farmers, and tech-solution providers.
- The nominees must have made significant contributions to the industry during eligibility period
- The nominees must be operating in India
- The eligibility period for the awards is from 1st April 2023 to 31 March 2024 or the Calendar Year followed the concerned organization/nominee applying for the award
- Nominations can be filled only by the categories of persons listed above
- Forms will be filled and submitted online through event website
- Each nomination form should include only the details sough in the relevant questionnaire along with supporting evidence including images, videos, a profile photo of the nominee and 100 words bio of the nominee
- The deadline for nominations is 30 October 2024, 6:00PM. No late entries be entertained
- Nominations will be evaluated only on the basis of the answers given and supporting evidence provided by each nominee
- The questions have been drafted in a way as to enable the jury to judge each nominee on the basis of these criteria: innovation, leadership, sustainability and overall impact on the shrimp industry
- The decisions of the jury are final. No correspondence will be entered regarding the selection process or results after the awards have been announced
- The jury will consist of industry experts and professional selected by theorganising team.
- Awards for three above categories will be given away
- The award winners will be notified in advance and invited to attend the ceremony in-person
- The winners will receive a trophy and citation recognizing their achievement
- The ceremony will include speeches, networking opportunities and other activities to celebrate their contribution to the shrimp/seafood industry
- The award ceremony will be held on 3rd December at Holiday Inn, Mayur Vihar, New Delhi
- It will be followed by a networking dinner.
- All information submitted during the nomination process will be treated as confidential and used solely for the purpose of evaluating the nominees
- The Jury of the Award will adhere to strict confidentiality protocols
- The organizing committee reserves the right to publicize the names and achievements of the winners for promotional purposes
- Winners may be requested to participate in the interviews and other promotional activities
- Any nominee found to have provided false or misleading information during the nomination process will be disqualified
- The Jury reserves the right to disqualify nominees who do not meet the eligibility criteria or fail to comply with the rules and guidelines.
